Devon's diverse landscapes, from coastal heathlands to sheltered river valleys and mature woodlands, provide excellent habitat for Sylviid warblers. Five species have been recorded in the county, including the increasingly resident Blackcap, the scarce and charismatic Dartford Warbler on lowland heaths, and familiar summer visitors such as the Whitethroat and Garden Warbler. The county's mild climate and varied vegetation make it a rewarding destination for warbler enthusiasts throughout much of the year.
